Migraines are extremely painful and debilitating headaches that consist of throbbing or sharp pains on one or both sides of the head. The symptoms of migraine headaches can include: dizziness, nausea, visual disturbances, auditory disturbances, and sensitivity to light. These painful symptoms can last anywhere from a couple of hours to a couple of days. Because migraines tend to be triggered due to stress, food sensitivities, and a general state of brain dysregulation, Neurofeedback is an ideal solution.
In the last several years, a variety of clinical studies and sources have reported excellent success using Neurofeedback to remediate migraine headaches. Typical reports indicate that upon the completion of successful training 80 % to 90% of migraine sufferers attain highly significant and lasting relief. A large percentage of these people report being migraine free years after their original training. Neurofeedback works by training the brain into a healthy state of self regulation. After Neurofeedback training the brain is far more resistant and less vulnerable to the variety of factors which - previous to training - would have triggered migraine headaches. Current findings indicate that Neurofeedback training is most successful with those migraines which are brought on by stress, PMS, or food sensitivities. While the amount of training sessions needed will vary from person to person, many migraine sufferers are free of migranes at ten sessions and after 20 sessions, the healing process has set.
